Heritage Park in Hanover Park spans 90 acres with two lakes and a 2.5-mile paved trail system that loops around the water and connects to the regional Forest Preserve District network. The park includes a playground with safety surfacing, a splash pad, six lighted tennis courts, four pickleball courts, and a 9-hole disc golf course. Anglers can fish from a pier on the main lake, and the park district stocks the water annually. Two picnic shelters with grills and electrical outlets sit near the lakeside, and the main parking lot has 150 spaces. The park is adjacent to the Hanover Park Metra station on the Milwaukee District/West line, which reaches downtown Chicago in about 45 minutes.
