Highland Point Park, Buffalo Grove, IL

Highland Point Park covers 20 acres along the Des Plaines River in Buffalo Grove. The park features two baseball diamonds, four tennis courts, two playgrounds, and a fishing pond stocked with bluegill and largemouth bass. A 1.8-mile paved loop trail connects directly to the Des Plaines River Trail, allowing residents to reach the 56-mile regional path for walking, running, or cycling. Picnic shelters with grills and electrical outlets can be reserved through the Buffalo Grove Park District. The park is located 0.6 miles from the Buffalo Grove Metra station and adjacent to the 1,200-acre Buffalo Grove Golf Course. Mature oak and hickory trees line the riverbank, providing shade along the trails. The park also contains a sledding hill and an outdoor ice rink that operates December through February.
