Holder Park spans 40 acres in northwest Algonquin, with two baseball diamonds, four tennis courts, and a playground that serve residents throughout the year. The park’s 1.2-mile paved loop is used by walkers, runners, and cyclists, while a separate 0.8-mile crushed-stone trail winds through the wooded western edge. An eight-acre retention pond supports seasonal fishing and is ringed by benches and open lawn areas. Restrooms, drinking fountains, and a 60-vehicle parking lot are located at the main entrance off Hanson Road, a half-mile south of Algonquin Road. The park sits within one mile of the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Library, two grocery stores, and the Metra Union Pacific Northwest line station, providing convenient access to daily errands and regional transit.
