Ideal Park sits at the center of Countryside, bordered by 63rd and 65th Streets west of Joliet Road. Its 35 acres include a 1.2-mile paved loop that connects to the Salt Creek Trail, giving cyclists and runners a direct route into the 2,700-acre Salt Creek Forest Preserve. The park’s four lighted tennis courts, two full-size baseball diamonds, and a regulation soccer field host organized leagues through the Countryside Park District. A small fishing pond stocked with bluegill and channel catfish sits beside the sledding hill, which reaches a 35-foot vertical drop.
