Jan Smith Park spans 30 acres in central Carol Stream and includes a 1.2-mile paved loop trail that connects to the regional Prairie Path system. The park features a 12,000-square-foot playground with separate areas for ages 2–5 and 5–12, two full-size baseball diamonds with LED lighting, four lighted tennis courts, and a 4,000-square-foot skate park. A fishing pond stocked annually by the Park District is surrounded by a 0.3-mile accessible boardwalk and observation deck. Picnic shelters with electricity and water are available by reservation, and restrooms remain open year-round. The park sits within a half-mile of both the Carol Stream Public Library and the DuPage County Forest Preserve’s 180-acre Springbrook Prairie, providing additional open space and trail access. On-site parking accommodates 180 vehicles, including designated spaces adjacent to the playground and athletic fields.
