John Janega Memorial Park covers 24 acres in Lindenhurst and includes a 1.2-mile paved loop trail that circles a central pond. The trail surface is asphalt and remains level, allowing residents to walk, jog, or bicycle without interruption. Two playground structures sit near the parking lot on the west side, each with separate equipment for younger and older children. A picnic shelter with six tables and two charcoal grills is available on a first-come basis and is frequently used for small family gatherings. Two lighted tennis courts and a sand volleyball court are located along the south edge, and a small dog-run area is fenced separately for off-leash use. The park borders both the Lindenhurst Park District recreation center and the local library, so residents can combine a park visit with indoor fitness classes or reading without driving to another location. Mature trees line the perimeter, providing shade along most of the trail and reducing wind exposure during colder months.
