Kamen East Park, Evanston, IL

Kamen East Park covers 13.5 acres in northeast Evanston and includes a lighted baseball field, two tennis courts, a playground with climbing structures, and open turf used for soccer and informal play. A paved path runs along the park’s western edge, connecting to the city’s larger trail network that extends toward the lakefront. Mature trees line the south boundary, providing shade over picnic tables and benches. The park sits two blocks from Central Street’s retail corridor and one mile from both the Metra Union Pacific North Line station and the North Shore Channel Trail. Restrooms and drinking fountains are available near the field house, which also contains storage for youth sports leagues. Street parking is permitted on adjacent residential blocks, and the park is within walking distance of Willard Elementary School and several daycare centers.
