Keepataw Forest Preserve covers more than 350 acres along the DuPage River in Bolingbrook, with 4.8 miles of multi-use trails that connect to the Centennial Trail. The terrain mixes flat river-bottom paths with gently rolling wooded ridges, offering both easy walking routes and longer loops for runners and cyclists. A canoe and kayak launch at the south end gives residents direct water access for paddling or fishing. Picnic shelters, drinking fountains, and restrooms are located at the main parking area off Royce Road, and the preserve is open daily from sunrise to sunset. Because the site sits less than three miles from the I-55 interchange and within a ten-minute drive of the Promenade Bolingbrook retail center, residents can reach shopping, dining, and expressway travel without leaving the immediate area.
