Kendall Park, Naperville, IL

Kendall Park covers 52 acres in southwest Naperville and is anchored by a 20-acre lake stocked for fishing. A 1.8-mile crushed-stone trail loops the shoreline and connects to the larger DuPage River Trail system, giving residents direct access to 40 miles of paved and natural-surface paths. The park includes two playgrounds, a sand-volleyball court, two lighted tennis courts, and three reservable picnic shelters with grills. An adjacent 10-acre dog park is divided into separate large- and small-dog sections. The site also contains the 18-hole, par-3 Kendall Park Golf Course, which is open to the public. Wooded buffers along the southern and western edges screen the park from nearby residential streets, while open turf areas offer views of the water and distant prairie plantings. The park sits within one mile of the downtown Metra station and is bordered by Route 59, placing grocery stores, restaurants, and the I-88 interchange within a five-minute drive.
