Kendall Ridge Park, Plainfield, IL

Kendall Ridge Park occupies roughly 25 acres in Plainfield and centers on a 6-acre retention pond stocked for catch-and-release fishing. A 1.8-mile crushed-limestone loop circles the water and connects to a network of paved sidewalks that lead to adjacent neighborhoods and Plainfield North High School. Two playgrounds with rubberized surfacing, a lighted baseball diamond, and two full-size soccer fields with permanent goalposts provide year-round organized sports. A 0.3-acre dog park sits at the north end, enclosed by a four-foot fence with separate small-dog and large-dog sections and a double-gated entry. Picnic shelters equipped with grills and electrical outlets can be reserved through the Plainfield Park District.
