Kiwanis Park, Prospect Heights, IL

Kiwanis Park occupies 12 acres at the corner of Elm and Maple streets in Prospect Heights. Its paved loop trail measures just under one mile and connects directly to the Old Orchard Trail, allowing residents to bicycle or walk to the Des Plaines River without crossing major roads. Two lighted tennis courts and four pickleball courts sit beside an open-air pavilion that can be reserved for private use. A playground with separate toddler and school-age equipment is surrounded by shade trees, and a fenced dog-exercise area with separate zones for small and large dogs is open dawn to dusk. The park also includes two full-size baseball/softball diamonds and a soccer field, all maintained by the Prospect Heights Park District. A parking lot adjacent to Elm Street provides more than fifty spaces, and metered water-bottle fillers are located near the restrooms. During summer months, the park hosts a weekly farmers’ market on Saturday mornings, drawing vendors from Lake County farms.
