Lakeshore Park sits on the western edge of Oak Lawn, where 95th Street meets the Cal-Sag Channel. A paved multi-use trail follows the water for just over a mile, connecting to the larger Cal-Sag Trail system and offering a flat, tree-lined route for walking, jogging, and cycling. Two lighted baseball diamonds, a soccer field, and four tennis courts sit on the north side of the park; all are available for public use outside of scheduled league play. A playground with modern safety surfacing and shaded seating is located near the parking lot, and restrooms remain open from April through October. Fishing is permitted along the shoreline with an Illinois license, and the open water draws migrating waterfowl in spring and fall. The park’s location places residents within a five-minute drive of the Metra Rock Island District line and the Oak Lawn Public Library, while the adjacent Lake Katherine Nature Center and Botanic Gardens provide additional walking paths and seasonal programs.
