Lovelace Park, Evanston, IL

Lovelace Park occupies 23 acres in northwest Evanston and is anchored by a 2.5-mile multi-use trail that links directly to the North Shore Channel Trail and the Green Bay Trail. The trail surface is crushed limestone, suitable for walking, jogging, and cycling. A fenced dog park is located on the western edge of the property, and two lighted tennis courts sit near the main parking lot on Crawford Avenue. The park also contains two full-size soccer fields, a playground with rubberized surfacing, and a shelter building with restrooms. Mature oak and maple trees line the perimeter, and the central lawn remains open for informal recreation. Street parking is available on adjacent residential blocks, and the park is two blocks from the Central Street Metra station and the Central Street business district.
