Malibu Playground Park, McHenry, IL

Malibu Playground Park sits on the west side of McHenry, Illinois, between Miller Road and Ridge Road, providing residents with 12 acres of developed recreational space. The park features a fully accessible playground with modular climbing structures, swings, and a splash pad that operates from Memorial Day through Labor Day. A half-mile paved loop trail circles the park perimeter, connecting to the adjacent 1.8-mile McHenry Prairie Trail for extended walking or cycling. Picnic shelters with grills, restrooms, and a sand volleyball court are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The park is bordered by open fields and mature trees that provide shade and wind protection. Nearby retail centers along Route 31 and downtown McHenry offer grocery stores, restaurants, and services within a five-minute drive. The park is maintained by the McHenry Park District and remains open daily from dawn to dusk.
