Maynegaite Park, Olympia Fields, IL

Maynegaite Park covers 25 acres of rolling terrain in Olympia Fields and is maintained by the Olympia Fields Park District. A 1.3-mile paved loop trail circles the park’s central retention pond, where anglers catch bluegill and largemouth bass. The trail connects to the Old Plank Road Trail, allowing cyclists and runners to travel east toward Chicago Heights or west toward Frankfort. Two playgrounds with rubberized surfacing serve children ages two through twelve, while six lighted tennis courts, two pickleball courts, and a sand volleyball court provide adult recreation. Picnic shelters equipped with charcoal grills and electrical outlets accommodate family gatherings, and restrooms remain open year-round. Mature oak and hickory trees line the perimeter, offering shade in summer and wind protection in winter. The park lies two miles north of Interstate 57, ten minutes from Metra’s University Park station, and within walking distance of the Village Center shopping area, placing groceries, pharmacies, and restaurants a short drive from nearby residences.
