Melas Park, Mount Prospect, IL

Melas Park covers 55 acres in central Mount Prospect and includes a 1.8-mile paved loop trail that connects to the village’s larger network of paths. The park contains four lighted tennis courts, two playgrounds with equipment for different age groups, and two full-size baseball fields that host youth leagues. A fishing pond stocked by the Park District sits near the south entrance, while an open picnic grove with permanent grills and tables is located on the west side. The grounds are bordered by mature trees that provide shade along the trail and playing fields. The park is two blocks from the Mount Prospect Public Library and within a half-mile of both downtown Mount Prospect and the Metra Union Pacific Northwest line station, giving residents direct access to shops, restaurants, and commuter service without driving.
