Mike Rylko Community Park, Buffalo Grove, IL

Mike Rylko Community Park spans 80 acres of open space in Buffalo Grove, with more than two miles of paved trails that connect to the village’s larger bike network. The park includes six lighted tennis courts, four baseball and softball diamonds with electronic scoreboards, and two full-size synthetic turf soccer fields that host youth leagues year-round. A 13,000-square-foot playground features age-specific climbing structures and splash-pad water play. Picnic shelters with grills and restrooms are grouped near a 22-acre retention pond stocked for catch-and-release fishing. The park sits less than one mile from Route 22 and the Metra Milwaukee District North line, giving residents quick access to downtown Chicago and nearby shopping corridors.
