Morris Park, Evanston, IL

Morris Park sits on the west side of Evanston, bounded by the North Shore Channel Trail and the city’s western limits. The park’s 22 acres include two baseball diamonds, a lighted soccer field, and a playground with separate areas for younger and older children. A 0.6-mile crushed-stone loop trail circles the grounds and connects directly to the regional North Shore Channel Trail, giving residents a flat, car-free route north to Lincolnwood and south toward the lakefront. Mature trees line the perimeter, providing shade for the picnic shelter and the open lawn used for pickup games. The park is two blocks from Central Street’s shops and the Metra Union Pacific North Line station, and it is served by Pace bus routes 213 and 250. Street parking is available on adjacent residential blocks, and the Evanston Public Library’s West Branch is a five-minute walk away.
