Northshire Park, Des Plaines, IL

Northshire Park spans 37 acres along the Des Plaines River in Des Plaines, Illinois. The park includes a 1.2-mile paved trail that connects to the Des Plaines River Trail system, providing continuous access for walking, jogging, and cycling. An open-air pavilion with picnic tables and grills is available for day use, and a playground with rubberized surfacing serves families with children. Fishing access points along the riverbank allow shoreline angling for species such as bass and bluegill. The park’s mature oak and hickory canopy offers shade along much of the trail, and several clearings provide views of the river. A 60-space parking lot is located at the main entrance on River Road, with additional street parking along Northshire Drive.
