Oakton Park, Park Ridge, IL

Oakton Park spans 40 acres in Park Ridge with facilities that support year-round recreation. The park includes a 25-meter outdoor pool with lap lanes and a zero-depth entry area, a fitness center with weight and cardio equipment, and four lighted tennis courts. A 1.2-mile paved trail loops the perimeter, connecting to adjacent residential streets and the city’s larger sidewalk network. The park also contains a playground with separate structures for different age groups, a sledding hill, and two picnic shelters with adjacent grills. Ball fields consist of two lighted baseball diamonds and four soccer fields with synthetic turf surfaces. The Des Plaines River Trail is accessible one block south of the park, providing an additional 56 miles of continuous paved path for cyclists and pedestrians. The park’s central location places it within two miles of the Park Ridge Metra station and the Uptown commercial district, which contains grocery stores, pharmacies, and restaurants.
