Oakwood Park spans 40 acres along the West Branch of the DuPage River in Winfield. The park’s 1.8-mile paved loop trail connects directly to the Illinois Prairie Path, allowing residents to bike or walk to Wheaton or Geneva without driving. Fishing is permitted along the riverbank, and the park maintains a stocked pond for catch-and-release angling. Two playgrounds equipped with modern safety surfacing sit near large picnic shelters that can be reserved through the Winfield Park District. An 18-hole disc-golf course winds through oak savanna and open meadow, and a sled hill on the northern edge is maintained by the district each winter.
