O'Hara Woods & Nature Preserve covers 137 acres of woodland and wetland in southern Romeoville, with more than two miles of marked trails that connect to the I&M Canal State Trail. The preserve includes a 1.3-mile loop through mature oak-hickory forest, a boardwalk over marshland, and an observation deck that overlooks seasonal waterfowl habitat. Picnic shelters, drinking fountains, and restrooms are located near the main parking area on 135th Street, and the site is open daily from dawn to dusk. The preserve sits within a mile of Romeoville's aquatic center and public library, and is less than ten minutes by car from the I-55 interchange, giving residents direct access to both on-site recreation and regional employment centers.
