Old Farm Road Park sits on 27 acres of open land along the north side of Long Grove Road, directly across from the Deer Park Town Center. A 1.2-mile paved loop trail circles the park’s two large retention ponds, which are stocked with bluegill and largemouth bass and bordered by cattails and native prairie grasses. Anglers cast from two wooden fishing platforms, while dog owners use the separate 1.5-acre fenced dog run equipped with agility equipment and shaded benches. The park also contains two full-size soccer fields, four lighted tennis courts, and a playground with adaptive equipment for children of varying abilities. Mature oak and hickory trees line the western edge, providing shade for picnickers at the six covered tables near the parking lot. The park connects via a short spur trail to the Deer Park Path, a regional route that extends east toward Cuba Marsh Forest Preserve. Public restrooms and drinking fountains remain open year-round, and the lot offers 85 striped spaces plus overflow on grass during tournaments.
