Oldfield Oaks Forest Preserve, Darien, IL

Oldfield Oaks Forest Preserve covers 245 acres in southern Darien and is managed by the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County. A 2.5-mile crushed-limestone trail loops through oak-hickory woodland, open prairie, and around a 12-acre pond that supports seasonal waterfowl. The trailhead at 119th Street provides a 40-car parking lot, restrooms, and drinking fountains. Anglers can access two fishing platforms on the pond, while picnickers have access to scattered tables and grills near the lot. Equestrians use a separate 1.8-mile bridle path that links to the adjacent Waterfall Glen Forest Preserve. The preserve is 1.5 miles from the I-55 and I-355 interchange and less than four miles from the Darien Public Library and several grocery stores, offering residents direct access to both natural surroundings and everyday conveniences.
