Park Avenue Boating/Fishing Beach occupies a 2-acre waterfront site along Lake Michigan in Highland Park, Illinois. The property includes a 400-foot concrete pier for launching small craft, a separate fishing jetty, and a protected swimming area with a sandy bottom. Adjacent to the beach, the City of Highland Park maintains a 1.3-mile paved multi-use path that connects to the larger North Shore Trail system, allowing cyclists and pedestrians to travel between downtown Highland Park and Glencoe without crossing major roads. On-site facilities consist of a restroom building, drinking fountains, a 24-space parking lot, and a seasonal concession stand. The beach sits within a 12-acre coastal park that also contains picnic shelters and a small lawn area. From the shoreline, views extend north to the wooded bluffs of the Rosewood Beach property and south along the city’s lakefront. The beach is open daily from Memorial Day through Labor Day, with lifeguards on duty from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. during that period.
