Potowatomi Park, Des Plaines, IL

Potowatomi Park occupies 16 acres along the Des Plaines River in the northern section of Des Plaines. A paved multi-use trail runs the length of the park, connecting to the regional Des Plaines River Trail and providing residents with a continuous route for walking, jogging, or cycling. The park contains two lighted ball fields, four tennis courts, a playground with rubberized surfacing, and two picnic shelters with grills. Mature trees shade the riverbank, and a fishing platform extends over the water. The park is adjacent to the Des Plaines Metra station and within one mile of both I-294 and the Des Plaines Public Library, giving residents quick access to downtown Chicago, O’Hare Airport, and everyday services without leaving the immediate area.
