Prairie Ridge Drive Park covers 35 acres of open space along the south side of Prairie Ridge Drive, just west of Route 47. The park includes a 1.8-mile paved loop trail that connects directly to the 40-mile Prairie Trail corridor, allowing residents to walk, run, or bike without driving. Two lighted softball fields, four tennis courts, and a playground with climbing structures and swings are located near the main parking lot. A small pond stocked with bluegill and largemouth bass sits on the eastern edge, surrounded by mowed turf and a fishing pier. Picnic shelters equipped with grills and restrooms are available for reservation through the Woodstock Park District. Mature oak and hickory trees line the northern boundary, providing shade along the trail and a buffer between the park and nearby neighborhoods. The park is a five-minute drive from downtown Woodstock’s Metra station and the municipal library, making it convenient for daily exercise or weekend outings without leaving city limits.
