Recreation Park in Arlington Heights spans 101 acres and includes a 1.8-mile paved loop trail used by residents for walking, jogging, and cycling. The park contains lighted tennis courts, a skate park, multiple baseball and soccer fields, and two playgrounds. A 10,000-square-foot community recreation building houses an indoor gymnasium and fitness room. Lake Arlington, a 50-acre reservoir adjacent to the park, offers non-motorized boating and fishing from a public pier. The park is bordered by residential neighborhoods on three sides and lies within one-half mile of downtown Arlington Heights, providing access to the Metra Union Pacific Northwest Line station and the Arlington Heights Memorial Library. Native prairie plantings and mature trees line portions of the trail, and the park is maintained by the Arlington Heights Park District.
