River’s Edge Reserve Park occupies 42 acres along the Fox River in St. Charles. A 1.8-mile paved trail loops through the site, connecting directly to the larger Fox River Trail and giving residents a continuous off-road route for walking, running, or cycling. Several fishing docks extend over the water, and a 14-acre restored wetland provides habitat for waterfowl and migratory birds. Two picnic shelters with tables and grills are available by reservation, and a children’s playground sits near the main parking area. Restrooms and drinking fountains remain open year-round. The park lies within a mile of downtown St. Charles shops and restaurants, and the Metra Union Pacific West line station is a five-minute drive, allowing commuters quick access to Chicago.
