Rover's Run Dog Park, Homewood, IL

Rover’s Run Dog Park occupies five acres of fenced turf and shaded woodland at the southwest corner of Homewood’s Martin Avenue and Ridge Road. The park is divided into two separate enclosures—one for dogs under 35 pounds and one for larger breeds—each with double-gated entries, benches, and water stations. A crushed-stone perimeter loop runs the full length of the property, connecting to the adjacent Calumet Woods Trail, which extends nearly two miles east toward the Calumet Country Club and links to the Old Plank Road Trail. Restrooms, a drinking fountain, and a small parking lot sit near the Ridge Road entrance. The park is open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., is lighted after dusk, and is maintained by the Homewood-Flossmoor Park District. Because it is situated less than a mile from the Homewood Metra station, residents can reach downtown Chicago in under an hour while still having immediate access to daily off-leash exercise for their dogs.
