Rubio Woods Forest Preserve spans 278 acres of oak-hickory woodland and wetland in Crestwood, Illinois. A 2.1-mile crushed-stone trail loops through the property, connecting to the Cal-Sag Trail and giving residents direct access to 9.5 additional miles of paved paths for walking, jogging, and cycling. Two picnic shelters with grills sit near the main parking area on 135th Street, while a small fishing pond stocked with bluegill and largemouth bass is located along the southern edge. The preserve is open daily from sunrise to sunset, with restrooms and drinking water available at the shelter building. Its location along 135th Street places it less than two miles from Crestwood’s municipal center and the Crestwood Public Library, and within a ten-minute drive of the 127th Street Metra Electric Line station, allowing weekday commuters easy access to downtown Chicago.
