Ruth Macintyre Conservation Area covers 40 acres of open space within Schaumburg, featuring a 1.5-mile crushed limestone trail that loops around wetlands and through restored prairie. The trail connects to the Olde Schaumburg Centre Trail, allowing residents to reach the Schaumburg Public Library and the nearby shopping district on foot or by bicycle. Two picnic shelters equipped with grills and tables provide space for gatherings, while an observation deck overlooks a restored marsh that attracts waterfowl and other wildlife.
