South River Street Park, Aurora, IL

South River Street Park occupies 28 acres along the Fox River in Aurora, with a paved multi-use trail that connects to the 60-mile Fox River Trail. The park includes a large playground with separate climbing structures for different age groups, six lighted tennis courts, and a sand volleyball court. A boat launch provides direct river access for kayaks and canoes. Two picnic shelters, each with grills and seating for up to 40 people, are available by reservation. Mature trees line the riverbank and provide shade over open lawns used for informal sports and gatherings. Restrooms and drinking fountains are located near the main parking area. The park sits within one mile of downtown Aurora’s Metra station and several grocery stores, allowing residents to reach daily errands by bike or on foot.
