Spring Dale Trails Park occupies 87 acres of gently rolling terrain in Spring Grove, Illinois, and is anchored by a 2.8-mile network of crushed-stone paths that connect wooded ridges to open meadows. The main loop passes a 12-acre fishing lake stocked with largemouth bass and bluegill, a picnic shelter with restrooms, and two playgrounds—one designed for toddlers and another for older children. Equestrians use a separate 1.4-mile bridle trail that skirts the park’s western boundary, while anglers launch from a 40-foot accessible fishing pier. A fenced dog-exercise area sits near the south parking lot, and a disc-golf course winds through mature oak and hickory stands. The park is adjacent to the Old Schoolhouse Trail, allowing cyclists and pedestrians to travel south into downtown Spring Grove or north toward Chain O’Lakes State Park without entering roadways. Seasonal programs include spring wildflower walks led by the Lake County Forest Preserves and summer fishing clinics for youth.
