Sunnyside Park, Wheaton, IL

Sunnyside Park covers 14.3 acres in northwest Wheaton and is bordered by Sunnyside Avenue, President Street, and the Union Pacific West Line. The park features two lighted tennis courts, a basketball court, a playground with climbing structures and swings, and two softball diamonds with a small press box. A 0.6-mile paved loop trail circles the park perimeter and connects to the Illinois Prairie Path just east of the ball fields. Mature oak and maple trees line the northern edge, providing shade for the picnic shelter and four grills. Restrooms and a drinking fountain are located near the parking lot on the west side. The park sits within a five-minute drive of downtown Wheaton’s Metra station, grocery stores along Roosevelt Road, and the Wheaton Public Library.
