Ted Spella Community Park, Algonquin, IL

Ted Spella Community Park spans 52 acres along Algonquin Road and includes lighted athletic fields, a playground, and a 1.3-mile paved loop trail suitable for walking, jogging, and biking. The park also features four tennis courts, two sand volleyball courts, and a nine-hole disc golf course. Picnic shelters with grills and restrooms are available for reservation, and the open lawns provide space for informal recreation. Mature trees border much of the perimeter, offering shade along the trail and near the playground. The park is adjacent to the Algonquin Public Library and is connected by sidewalk to nearby residential neighborhoods, allowing residents to reach it on foot or by bicycle. The McHenry County Conservation District’s Raceway Woods Forest Preserve lies less than two miles west, extending local trail options. Public restrooms and drinking fountains are located at the main parking lot, and the park is maintained by the Algonquin Area Public Library District and the Village of Algonquin Parks and Recreation Department.
