Vernando Park spans 48 acres along the Des Plaines River in Joliet and is managed by the Forest Preserve District of Will County. The park includes a 1.8-mile paved trail that connects to the I&M Canal Trail, allowing residents to bike or walk continuously toward downtown Joliet or north toward the Channahon trailhead.
