Wayne Grove Forest Preserve covers 245 acres of oak-hickory woodland, restored prairie, and wetland habitat in Bartlett, Illinois. A 3.2-mile paved trail loops through the property, connecting to the regional Bartlett Park District trail system and providing access for walking, jogging, and cycling. Equestrian trails run parallel to the main loop, and a public parking area with restrooms and drinking water is located at the main entrance on West Bartlett Road. Birders use the preserve’s observation platform to view waterfowl in the cattail marsh, while anglers cast from the shoreline of the 4-acre fishing pond stocked by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. The preserve borders the Metra Milwaukee District/West line at Bartlett station, allowing residents a short walk or bike ride to weekday trains into downtown Chicago. Nearby, the Bartlett Public Library and Park District community center sit within a mile of the preserve entrance, offering additional year-round programming for all ages.
