West Ridge Nature Preserve spans 22 acres at 5801 N. Western Avenue and functions as a restored native habitat within the city grid. A 0.6-mile crushed-stone loop trail circles a central wetland and oak savanna, giving residents a flat, stroller-friendly route for daily walks or jogging. Two fishing piers extend over the 3-acre pond stocked with bluegill and largemouth bass, and a small dock allows non-motorized kayaks and canoes to launch.
