Willows Edge Park, Crystal Lake, IL

Willows Edge Park occupies 37 acres along the south shore of Crystal Lake, providing residents with direct shoreline access and a quarter-mile paved walking path that connects to the 2.5-mile Crystal Lake Trail system. The park features a 1,500-square-foot playground with separate climbing structures for different age groups, four lighted tennis courts, two basketball courts, and a 3-acre off-leash dog park enclosed by chain-link fencing. Picnic shelters equipped with grills and electrical outlets sit adjacent to the shoreline, while a 2,800-square-foot recreation building contains restrooms, a concession area, and indoor meeting space available for community use. The park maintains 12 acres of native prairie plantings and oak savanna habitat, with interpretive signs identifying local wildlife species. A public boat launch provides access for kayaks and small watercraft, and a fishing pier extends 80 feet into the lake.
