Windy Hill Park, Frankfort, IL

Windy Hill Park spans 45 acres in Frankfort and provides direct access to the Old Plank Road Trail, a 22-mile paved route connecting to Joliet and beyond. The park features three full-size baseball diamonds, two lighted soccer fields, and four tennis courts maintained by the Frankfort Park District. A 1.8-mile perimeter loop encircles open turf and a central retention pond that supports seasonal waterfowl. Picnic shelters, restrooms, and a playground with climbing structures and swings are clustered near the parking area off 80th Avenue. The site sits less than two miles from U.S. Route 30 and the Frankfort Square Library, placing schools, grocery stores, and the Metra station within a short drive. Mature tree lines along the northern edge offer shade for spectators and reduce wind exposure on the playing fields.
