Winnebago Park, Skokie, IL

Winnebago Park sits on 16 acres in central Skokie and includes two lighted baseball diamonds, a lighted soccer field, two tennis courts, a playground, and a small picnic shelter. A paved walking loop encircles the main athletic fields, and a separate paved path connects the park to the nearby North Branch Trail, allowing residents to reach the trailhead on foot or by bicycle. The park is bordered on the north by the Cook County Forest Preserve, giving visitors a direct view of mature oak and hickory woodland. The Skokie Public Library and the Skokie Swift station are both within a half-mile, and several grocery stores and restaurants lie along Oakton Street, reachable by the same sidewalk network that borders the park.
