Wolf Road Forest Preserve occupies 521 acres of oak-hickory woodland and restored prairie in Burr Ridge, with more than eight miles of crushed-limestone and natural-surface trails open to hikers, bicyclists, and equestrians. A 2.3-mile segment of the Salt Creek Greenway Trail runs through the preserve, connecting directly to the neighboring Waterfall Glen Forest Preserve and the Illinois & Michigan Canal National Heritage Corridor. Two public parking areas off Wolf Road provide trailhead access and restrooms, while the preserve’s interior picnic shelters accommodate small groups. The site is less than two miles from the I-55 interchange at County Line Road and within a ten-minute drive of downtown Hinsdale’s Metra station, restaurants, and grocery stores, allowing residents convenient weekday commutes and weekend outings without leaving the immediate area.
