Woodland Park, Hickory Hills, IL

Woodland Park occupies a 30-acre site in Hickory Hills, roughly two blocks east of the Tri-State Tollway. The park contains an 18-hole disc-golf course that winds through mature oak and hickory stands, a lighted baseball diamond, two full-size soccer fields, and a playground with poured-in-place surfacing. A 1.2-mile paved loop path circles the perimeter, connecting to the Cal-Sag Trail at its southeast corner and allowing residents to bicycle or walk the additional 9.5 miles to the Centennial Trail without crossing major roads. The park also features a reservable picnic shelter with electric service and restrooms, a fishing pond stocked annually by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, and a sledding hill maintained by the park district during winter. Its location places residents within three miles of both the Hickory Hills Public Library and Moraine Valley Community College, and five minutes by car from the Harlem Avenue retail corridor.
