Woodlands Park in Mundelein spans 63 acres of wooded and open terrain along the Des Plaines River. A 1.5-mile paved loop trail runs through mature oak and hickory stands, connecting picnic shelters, a playground, and fishing piers. The park’s boat launch provides direct river access for kayaks and canoes, while an adjacent 18-hole disc golf course winds through the tree line. Two baseball diamonds and a soccer field sit near the main parking area, and restrooms remain open year-round. The park is located less than two miles from downtown Mundelein shops and the Metra station, and it borders the 6-mile Des Plaines River Trail, allowing residents to reach Cuba Marsh Forest Preserve and Independence Grove without driving.
