W.W. Stevens Park covers 28 acres at the corner of President Street and Sunnyside Avenue, a short walk from Wheaton’s downtown Metra station. The park’s central feature is a 0.7-mile paved loop that circles a 6-acre retention pond stocked with bluegill and stocked annually by the Park District. Anglers cast from three wooden fishing platforms, while the same path serves runners and cyclists who connect directly to the 2.3-mile Prairie Path spur that begins at the park’s south gate. Two lighted tennis courts, a sand volleyball court, and four baseball diamonds with 90-foot baselines sit on the west side; on the east side, a fenced playground built in 2019 includes adaptive equipment and shaded seating. Restrooms and drinking fountains operate year-round, and the parking lot offers more than 120 spaces. Street access from downtown Wheaton places the park within a ten-minute walk of the public library, multiple grocery stores, and several restaurants along Front Street.
