Yellowstone Park, Algonquin, IL

Yellowstone Park sits at the northwest edge of Algonquin and covers 85 acres of open space and preserved prairie. A 1.4-mile paved loop trail circles the park, connecting to the 2.3-mile Prairie Trail segment that runs through the village. The park contains two playgrounds, a 22-station fitness course, two full-size soccer fields, and four lighted tennis courts. Two picnic shelters and a reservable gazebo sit near the parking lots, and restrooms are open year-round. Visitors can fish from the 400-foot boardwalk that extends over Turner Lake, which is stocked annually with rainbow trout. The park is also adjacent to the 27-hole Randall Oaks Golf Club and the Algonquin Public Library branch, both within a five-minute drive.
