This is a wonderful home that was expanded several years ago. The kitchen was updated about 10 years ago and features gas cooking and charming brick fireplace. There is plenty of character throughout with decorator touches here and there. A great home for the price, don't miss out! The bathrooms have been updated and show very nice. There is work that a buyer will do; as always in our charming Arcadia Homes. Arcadia is a wonderful neighborhood which is located both in Scottsdale and Phoenix. The neighborhood extends from the Canal on the South border, to Camelback Road on the North, 44th Street to the West and 70th Street on the East. In recent years this neighborhood is becoming known to include some very nice pockets of homes which are a little way to the South of the Canal as well. Today this is a true community of neighbors. There are few things in life that give us the pleasure of our homes. It is wonderful to come home to a neighborhood where people know their neighbors, they smile and wave when you drive by and genuinely care for one another. Driving through you will see families out walking, several people biking, running or enjoying in-line skating though our streets. There are churches located within the neighborhood and shopping on all four corners of Arcadia. The residents of Arcadia enjoy nearby dining establishments, parks, resorts, golf courses, schools and medical offices. Living in Arcadia you are minutes from just about everything. The Campus of ASU University is only 15 minutes away, the renowned Arizona Biltmore is 12 minutes, Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall is 4 minutes, the Sky Harbor International Airport is just 12 minutes and many wonderful restaurants are within walking distance. Just to the Southeast of Arcadia is Old town Scottsdale providing restaurants, shopping, art galleries, walking paths, trolley rides, museums and some night life as well. To the Northeast of Arcadia is the Waterfront Properties which include posh condominiums, more restaurants and exquisite shopping as you would find on Rodeo Drive. The public schools are Scottsdale Unified District Schools and there are many private schools nearby as well. Some of the neighborhood activities include: Fourth of July Parade, October 31 Boo your Neighbor, annual citrus picking, designated neighborhood spruce up days and loads of community pride activities. Today, single family home asking prices in this area range from $450,000 to $10,000,000. The prices vary with lot size, home size, remodeling, views and quality of construction. There are a few town homes and condos within the boundaries of ARCADIA and they are priced from $150,000 to $5,000,000 as well. The luxurious Waterfront Condominium living is spectacular and draws Buyers who want the very best. Some of the history ARCADIA: Prior to the 1950s this land was a citrus grove and was nurtured by flood irrigation water. Many of the properties still enjoy the many citrus trees and the deep watering available with that irrigation system. At the end of World War II there were high housing demands as our soldiers returned from service. This is the time frame when most of Arcadia was originally developed into housing. Some of the first homes were built in 1956 to 1957. Of course there were a few even prior to that time frame, however very few. The bulk of the homes were constructed of cement blocks on the exterior with the interior framed out and finished with plaster walls or wallboard as we know it today. The majority of homes ranged in size from 1200 square feet to 2500 square feet with most of them having a carport for parking. These homes were place on lots that ranged from 10,000 square feet to 5 acre parcels. There were very few five acre parcels sizes down with the majority under a acre to create many home sites.
