Brickyard Golf Club, Macon, GA, Real Estate
Brickyard Golf Club occupies flat, sandy terrain in central Georgia and features wide fairways that reward accurate tee shots rather than length. Bermuda grass covers the putting surfaces, which are consistently firm and moderately fast. A broad drainage canal runs through the middle of the layout, creating natural separation between holes and occasional forced carries. Several fairways sit on natural ridges, producing sidehill lies that favor players who can control trajectory and spin. The rough is kept at a moderate height, allowing recoveries without excessive penalty, while scattered hardwoods and clusters of pines provide shade and windbreaks rather than tight corridors. Irrigation is computer-controlled, maintaining uniform turf color even in dry spells. Bunkers are shallow with firm sand, discouraging aggressive flop shots. The overall design emphasizes strategic positioning over power, rewarding course management and clean contact on approach shots.
