Crooked Creek Golf Club occupies a 250-acre site just outside Hendersonville, North Carolina, in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The course was designed by Thomas E. Clark and opened in 1991. It uses the natural terrain of rolling hills and natural streams, with most fairways carved through stands of hardwood and pine. The layout includes elevated tees and a few significant elevation changes, particularly on the back nine, where several holes play across valleys or beside a small lake. Greens are built to USGA specifications with bentgrass surfaces that are maintained at moderate speed. Water comes into play on nine holes, most notably the par-5 18th, which doglegs around a pond. The facility also includes a driving range with both grass and mat areas, a short-game practice green, and a clubhouse that houses a pro shop and grill.
